The “R” indicates a cutting blade designed for thinning, rejuvenation and pruning of woody shrubs and hedges. Available in both 24” and 30” blade length options, this hedge trimmer offers two ways to tackle trimming tasks. Even with its high torque engine, the HS82R uses 20% less fuel than previous models, reducing fuel costs and improving the bottom line. It also features low-vibration technology and a swivel handle for comfort and control when cutting.

Features

Anti-vibration system

Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine’s engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.

STIHL ElastoStart

STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting. The compression shock is taken away from the user’s joints and muscles through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.

Electronic ignition module

This ensures reliable starting and trouble-free running. The ignition system is fully encapsulated and thus protected from damp and dirt.

Manual fuel pump (Purger)

A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting pulls required following extended breaks in operations.

Long-life air filter system

Ensures longer cleaning intervals and better protection of the engine.

Single-sided cutting blade

The double-sided cutting blade is ground on one side. The special blade geometry ensures high cutting performance
